How To Make Your PC Run Like New

There are a number of ways to make your PC run like new. Most people overlook the fact that all new PCs have a top speed, and as time progresses, this speed is slowed down with the amount of clutter, files and random applications that you may have installed. Unless your PC is 5+ years old, you do not have to buy any new hardware to make it run faster - you just have to be able to fix the various problems that will typically prevent it from loading up quickly, thus making it appear to run slower.

STEP 1 - Uninstall Unwanted Programs

The first step is to uninstall any unwanted software that you may have on your computer. Not many people know this, but each PC has a certain level of speed which is continually being used by the various applications that you may want to run. The bottom line is that the more software you have installed, the more PC resources are taken up, and the slower your system will run. You should follow the steps here to get rid of any unwanted programs that you may have:
  • Click "Start"
  • Locate "Control Panel"
  • Find "Add / Remove Programs"
  • Remove any of the programs you don't want
This will basically allow your PC to "concentrate" more on the applications you do want to run, making sure that it's able to correctly process all the important settings & options that are required to run. We've found that this is actually one of the best ways to speed up a slow system

STEP 2 - Defragment Your Hard Drive

The second steps is to defragment the hard drive of your PC. Hard drives work in a very peculiar way - in that they store your files in a sort of "library" of different files / settings. It's often the case that these files will be mixed up, and split up - which is like taking some chapters out of a book and placing them into another book. All computers suffer from this common problem, and as a result you need to make sure that you keep your hard drives defragmented at all times - which can be achieved by using an in-built Windows feature called the "Disk Defragmenter".

You can see how to defragment your hard drive here:
  • Click "Start", select "All Programs"
  • Locate "Accessories" and find "System Tools"
  • Pick out "Disk Defragmenter"
This will basically allow you to defragment the hard drives that you have on your system, which will allow your PC to read the files it requires quicker - boosting its speed & reliability as a result. This is a common and highly effective procedure that most PC repair specialists will perform on slow systems.

STEP 3 - Clean Out The Registry

The final step to fix a slow PC is to clean out the "Registry" of Windows. The registry is a database which all Windows computers use to store important settings & options for your system inside. It's where everything from your desktop wallpaper to your most recent emails are stored - allowing your system to recall all the important settings that it requires to run in the fastest time.

Although the registry is highly important, it's constantly suffering from problems in the form of the database becoming corrupted & damaged. This is a notoriously common problem, which can be fixed by using a registry cleaner tool to scan through your system and fix any of the issues inside

Data Backup Support, The Best Solution To Protect Your Data

Your data is very important and you certainly don't want to compromise it. Whether it is corporate or an individual data is more precious than anything else. Many feel that if the data is stored on the secondary drive, there is no chance of data loss. If the operating system crashes, the data will be protected. But this is not right always. In many cases, it is seen that the entire hard drive has gone out of order without any prior notice. And if it happens, it does not matter whether you have stored the data on primary partition or on the secondary partition, it is very difficult to recover lost data from a damaged hard disk. Here comes the importance of data backup support.

Windows operating boasts a useful feature named Backup and Restore. The feature was present in the earlier version of this operating system but in Windows 7 operating system it has been improved at lot. You can back up your important data and Outlook mails through this feature. Don't know how to open Backup and Restore in Windows 7? The process is very simple. You just need to type Backup in the Search box, and then click the item in the results list. You will get easy-to-follow steps and prompts to accomplish the entire data backup process. Here you can also choose the location where you want to back up specific files or your entire computer.

Many also prefer to back up the entire computer when they first set it up. With this option you can capture everything including files, software programs as well as system settings. If it is done you are safe. If your computer starts malfunctioning or stops working completely, there is no chance of losing your important data.

All computer users are not tech savvy. There are many PC users who might face difficulties to perform data backup and restore. For them, remote computer support is an ideal choice. This is a very popular mode of computer repair and data backup. Companies offer data backup solution to the PC users remotely via the Internet. What you need to do is just subscribe their tech support plan. Then the entire process will be carried out by the experienced technicians.

To offer the best services, these companies employ Microsoft, Apple, Red Hat and Linux Certified experts. They offer comprehensive and secure data backup solutions at a very convenient price. They also help to secure your important data at your preferred locations. Data backup solutions from these service providers are very much reasonably priced and it is available round the clock. Choose any of the service provider and secure you data.

Many online computer repair companies offer data backup solution at a very convenient price. With their plans, the also offer operating system support, PC security support, Antivirus support absolutely free.

Windows 7 Backup Solutions

The data contained on your computer, or in your computer network, is the bedrock of your business. What would happen if suddenly all of that data disappeared? Well, it could literally mean the end of your business. There are different back up solutions for different operating systems, but here we will focus on how you would approach a Windows 7 backup.

Windows 7 backup and restore centre

Most people are not even aware that, if you are considering a backupto protect all of your data, Windows 7 has its own tools for this purpose. The centre is a predecessor of that first introduced when Windows Vista came on the market, and as such this centre is an even further improved and refined offering to previous ones.
So, the first thing to do would be to investigate the centre to ascertain if you are able to take care of your backup yourself.

Windows 7 'duplicate copy' feature

When doing a Windows 7 backup, be aware that the duplicate or 'shadow copy' feature enables the restoration of earlier versions of files or folders. Should you decide to change the file or folders this functionality will automatically update previous version of that file or folders with your changes. This is especially convenient if you are working on a shared network or external hard drives, as these are supported during the process.

Failed backup

If you are unable to undertake a backup, or something goes wrong during the process, then its time to call in the professionals, who can assess the problem, restore any data you may have lost and then back everything up.

Server Support for Small Business

Small business forms an important part of global business. After all this is what generates most new jobs, employment, and keeps economies going in most capitalist countries. In order to ensure that small business runs smoothly, it needs to be provided with the right server support or it infrastructure management.

So what is good server support? Most business software applications run on servers which give employees a centralized platform to access information and run their business needs. This could be payroll software, CRM software, file systems, accounting, HR, ERP applications amongst many other line of business applications. Applications run on operating systems like Windows or Linux, and it is important to maintain the operating systems for optimal health. This includes properly patching all security vulnerabilities using Windows Updates, ensuring that server is running proper security software like firewall and anti-virus and other preventative maintenance items. Preventative maintenance items include deleting temporary files and defragmenting the disk on a periodic basis.

Talking about physical conditions for IT Infrastructure management, small business needs to make sure that all servers and racks are maintained in right temperature conditions, power backup, humidity, and away from a dusty environment. It is always recommended to have your server under manufacturer or vendor warranty, with a quick replacement service level agreement with them. Any sort of hardware failures can occur, and you need to be protected and ensure minimal downtime for your business needs.

The other important thing in small business server support is around backups and disaster recovery. This is an aspect that most small businesses ignore all together. It is extremely important to invest in good backup software. Today, there is a wide range of bare-metal recovery backup products available in the market. Bare metal recovery backs up an entire server disk volume as opposed to only certain files or applications. This makes recovering the entire disk volume much easier and hassle free recovery. An added feature of these products is the fact that they can also do recovery on different server hardware. So, if there is a hardware failure, you can simply paste the bare-metal recovery image on to a new hardware and you're ready to be back online.

Book Scanning

Scanning books can be a delicate task. With millions of rare in irreplaceable books in private and public ownership the desire to scan in a non destructive way is growing. Books are often scanned to allow them to be re-published as eBooks, or to allow them to be reprinted when demand returns. In the case of very rare books, it is wise to make a digital backup just in case the original is ever lost.

People have been scanning books, albeit with poor results, ever since the invention of the document scanner. Technology has now developed to such a degree that books can be scanned with speed and amazing accuracy. Specialised scanners hold the books in a v-shaped cradle and cameras take photographs of the opposing pages.

In the early days, using flatbed scanners, there were issues with shadows and curvature near the binding of the book. This curvature and shadowing would render text near the gutter illegible. The overhead book scanner sought to resolve these issues by taking snap shots from above the book, however the problem of curvature was ever present.

By using a v-shaped cradle, books sit open at approx. 45 degrees, a v-shaped glass screen is lowered onto the book which ensures that the pages lay flat. Once the screen is lowered, two cameras take photos of the pages. Software can then be used on the captured images to crop and then to OCR, extracting an editable text based version of the book.

Book scanning has plenty of applications, from rare historical books, to company journals, council records, technical manuals and out of print books. Once scanned and converted, these books can be republished as eBooks or re printed using traditional methods.

Technology And Traditional Cultures - Conflict Or Not

Today a great number of people commence to recognize that a lot of traditional customs and traditions tend to be losing their own charm and some of which have actually disappeared. There are many reasons as far as this phenomenon is concerned, there is an idea that the fast growth and development of technology impedes the traditional cultures. I don't agree with this concept. On the contrary, I think the development of technology is not just suitable for traditional cultures, but can advertise the development of the second one.

First of all, we must explain a concept which a number of traditional customs have got vanished not necessarily because of the progression of technologies, however, due to the globalization procedure of the whole world. Exchanges in politics, economy, and particular culture, will definitely modify our way of thinking and ways of living. For example, young people become more interested in several western festivals like Christmas and Saint Valentine's Day, while less interested in some Chinese traditional festivals. But when technology is concerned, it helps the transmission and marketing of traditional cultures. Look at the World wide web which brings the cultures around the globe before all of us, as well as our cultures prior to the world. With so many digital details online, we can just sit and enjoy the knowing associated with a lot of wonderful overseas traditions as well as customs in the planet.

Concurrently, our traditional Chinese culture is also transmitted and advertised worldwide. Moreover, modern tools provide us with a lot of vibrant and energetic methods of passing our traditional customs to foreign countries around the world. In comparison to reading ancient Chinese articles regarding Confucius, for example, various and advanced audio-video shows assist children enjoy the studying process of our own conventional lifestyle. At the same time, along with today's technology, we are able to find much more about our own traditional culture and some culture relics such as paintings or calligraphies, which have been or may be damaged or eroded in the future, can be preserved for decades and hundreds of years. Totally owing to these kinds of sophisticated technology, we can adore those masterpieces of our traditional culture.

From all the above mentioned, we are able to note that modern technology has done a huge favor for our traditional cultures. Although the breakthroughs in modern science appear to have changed people's way of thinking and ways of living, they can by no means take the place of traditional cultures. Through correctly employing the current technological accomplishments, we can certainly accelerate the development of our traditional culture, as opposed to impeding it.

What Are DVD Video Recorders?

I find technology confusing. In fact like me, many people do since technology is moving at a fast pace and it is often difficult to keep up with it. Unless you are constantly in touch with media and keep reading about new gadgets in the market and also keep using them, it is impossible to know what is going on. And one day when someone talks about the different between set top box DVR and PC DVR when you walk into the store, then you are perplexed.

Television is one the most popular entertainment media till date. But often you miss out on some of your favourite programs or featured movies and feel disappointed. That is when technology comes into use. You must have heard people speaking about how you can record your favourite tracks or programs on a appliance called DVD video recorder but never got into the details of it. So when you finally go to the shop asking for a DVR, the questions being pointed at you confuse you thoroughly.

When you would want to buy a DVR, the first thing you need to decide is what type of video you primarily want to record? Is it that you want to record the programs coming out of satellite television or set top box or is it that you want something compatible with your personal computer and record what is being played on your PC. If you want to go for something that can be compatible with your camera or camcorder as well, then you should go for the set top package itself.

Several manufacturers offer a variety of DVD video recorder product types in the market. Some of the known ones are TiVo, Motorola, RCA and Scientific Atlanta. Since technology does not wait for anyone, there have been modifications in DVRs as well. Nowadays there are many companies, such as Replay TV that are targeting PC users, offering software packages that turn your computer into a DVR. Well known companies like Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba even manufacture DVD recorders that are inbuilt with a hard drive which makes them as good as a DRV. If it could get any better than this then there are cable companies like Cox, Time Warner etc who even offer in built DVD video recorders within the cable television packages.

DVD video recorders are like memory extensions that you can plug in to either your PC or your set top box and it records images or videos that you want. These actually have a lot of memory and can store extensive amount of videos. At the same time you might be having a habit of recording many programs on a given day. So if at any point of time you feel your DVD recorder box is full then there are easy options of copying these videos into DVDs without erasing them. This way these are easily reproducible and save you the pain of loosing precious memories. So order your DVR now to store all those important videos that you always wanted to.

SEO Tips: The Five Sins of Link Building

SEO is an art that small businesses increasingly have to figure out themselves. Quickly, a newbie figures out that the name of the game in SEO is linkbuilding. But are you doing it right? Or more importantly, are you doing it wrong? Make sure you are not wasting your time, and not committing the five big linkbuilding sins, as outlined below.

  1.  Purchasing Backlinks through Online Companies- First ask yourself these questions "How do I know what quality these sites are?","Are they actually posting to these directories?, After all, how would you know? and lastly " What will I do when, not if, Google finds out and Sandboxes me?" This is too risky of a venture for a $9.99 investment. I can't stress avoiding these quick fixes more, it would be a huge mistake to fall for this trap! We at Florida SEO Design's believe in human submissions, spread out over a long duration to avoid such penalties.
  2. Relying on one SEO method over another method- I believe that Search Engine Optimization is much like a stock portfolio. Would you place all your money in one stock? Absolutely not. It is imperative to invest in many SEO outlets, placing all your time and effort in one avenue is counter-productive. Google places websites based on a formula and there are guidelines that prevent such skewing of thier algorithm.
  3. Using crappy Backlinks- This SEO sin is much like the first one however even manually submitted weak backlinks are pretty much useless. One powerful backlink can be as powerful as 100 weak and useless backlinks. Sometimes having weak backlinks can even hurt your SEO standing. Be careful when inter-connecting your site!
  4. Using Flash Intros- Flash should only be in the form of embedded content and used sparingly. Flash Intros can cause problems for bots trying to crawl your website.
  5. Dont redirect unless you have to- Only redirect a visitor when the content has been moved. Search Engines know when you purposely redirect a visitor to an alternate site for website views.

The biggest Quick tips for succeeding in Search Engine optimization are:

    * Build quality backlinks
    * Have new and original content
    * Use the power of Social Media Sites
    * Only link with websites that are reputable
    * Make Keywords naturally occurring
    * DMOZ is King

Review sites are powerful, Do not try to fool them!

Easy Way To Choose Laptop

In this modern age there are millions of laptop that you can choose from. Each with its unique capabilities and design. With every laptop companies offering their laptop to you, certainly you would be confused to choose. Well, there is an easy way to choose one.

First of all, you need to know why you need laptop for. Certainly you choose laptop because it is portable. If you don't need it to be carried around then I suggest you buy a desktop instead because you can get better performance for lower price replacing the computer portability.

You need to know what kind of software and program are you going to use the laptop for. Are you going to use it for high performance task? Games, photo editing, and video editing require high random-access memory (RAM) and hard disk drive (HDD).

For high performance task you will need: 3GB or bigger RAM, hard disk size 320GB and hard disk speed 7,200rpm or bigger, 17 inch or bigger display, graphic card with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5670 or newer, Intel Core i3 with 3 GHz or higher.

But, if you don't need to do high performance task you can get the minimum laptop performance. Student and home user that use their laptop for writing assignment or browsing internet could go for the minimum laptop performance.

For minimum laptop performance all you need is: 1GB RAM, hard disk size 160GB and hard disk speed 7,200rpm, 13 inch display, graphic card Intel GMA HD/shared, Intel core i3 with 1,2 GHz.

Tech Support - When to Ask for Help

Tech support can be a beneficial thing if you are having difficulty with your computer, the internet or anything technical for that matter. If you are having difficulty diagnosing a problem with your computer, and are wondering if you should call a professional for help, the first thing that you should do is consider the options that are available to you. For example, aside from standard technical support, you can also use the internet, phone a friend for support or ask for help in a variety of different means as well. Is it time to ask for help?

Tech support comes in a wide variety of different forms. Some technical support is provided by the manufacturer of the product itself. You can usually get help with broken products or get answers to your questions as they come up, but reaching this type of technical support is not always easy. What this means is if you are looking for quick help or a quick answer to your question, you may be surprised to end up on hold waiting for support, especially if you cannot call during prescribed business hours.

There are also technical support options that operate on a general basis. Basically, you would be working with a tech support specialist who can help you with diagnostics and repair, allowing you to determine what is wrong with your computer, internet or electronics so that you can solve the problem and move on with your life. Most of these technical support people can come directly to your home and office, which means that you can get the help you need pretty fast, and you will be able to get back to work.

Working with a tech support specialist is the best option available to you. The reason is because a technical support person can come directly to your home or your office, diagnose the problem, give you a prognosis and repair the problem for you. If you are trapped at home or in your office with a computer problem that you simply cannot solve, the solution is to bring in a technical support representative that can work directly with you in order to repair your electronics and send you on your way. This will save you time, and in many cases money as well by giving you the best chance of repairing your computer with a trained specialist at the helm.

Are you struggling with a computer problem and need tech support?

Scalability - Increasing The Size Of The Problem

Heuristics can shave some time off a lengthy computation, but they cannot generally find the best solution. And when number of possibilities rises steeply, as it does in TSP, the solution may not be all that great. The ability of an algorithm to perform well as the amount of data rises is called scalability. An increase in data usually means an increase in the number of calculations, which results in a longer run time. To scale well, an algorithm's run time should not rise prohibitively with an increase in data.

Consider an algorithm that searches for every instance of a certain word in a document. The simplest algorithm would examine one word, see if there is a match, and then move on. If the size of the document is doubled, then the number of words will be about twice as large, and the search algorithm will take twice as long to search, all other things being equal. A document four times as large would take four times as long. This increase is linear - the increase in run time is proportional to the increase in data.

Now consider the brute force approach to solving a TSP. The number of possible routes rises at an astonishing rate with even a slight increase in the number of cities, which is a much worse situation than in the search algorithm. If the input of the search algorithm goes from four words to eight, then the time doubles; for brute force TSP calculations, an increase from four cities to eight increases the time by a factor of 1,680. The search algorithm scales at a tolerable level, but the brute force TSP is a disaster.

Advances in computer technology have resulted in blazingly fast computers, yet even with these speedy machines, algorithm scalability is important. Linear increases, such as the simple search algorithm displays, do not present much of a problem even with relatively large data sets, but this kind of tame behavior is the exception rather than the rule. The TSP is a notoriously difficult case, but there are many other problems that scale poorly. Even with heuristics and approximations, solving these problems when the data set is large takes an extraordinary amount of time, if it is possible at all. To the chagrin of scientists and engineers, many of the more interesting and important problems in science and engineering belong in this category.

There is another practical concern besides run time. Computers hold instructions and data in memory as the program runs. Although some computers have a huge amount of memory, it is still a limited resource that must be conserved. Scientists and engineers who share the use of the most advanced supercomputers are allotted only a certain amount of memory, and users who pay a supercomputer facility to use one of their machines are often charged for the memory as well as the time their programs consume.

Memory can also be an important factor in the run time of a program. Computer memory consists of fast devices such as random access memory (RAM) circuits that hold millions or billions of chunks of data known as bytes, so retrieving a piece of data or loading the next instruction takes little time. But if a program exceeds the amount of available memory, the computer must either stop or, in most cases, will use space on the hard disk to store the excess. Disk operations are extremely slow when compared to memory, so this procedure consumes a great deal of time. A personal computer, for example, should have ample memory, otherwise large programs such as video games will be uselessly slow even if the processor is the fastest one available.

The memory versus speed trade-off was more imperative back in the 1980s, when memory was measured in thousands of bytes rather than today's billions. Although memory is still an important factor in certain applications, the main issue in general is time. When a programmer examines an algorithm's efficiency, he or she is usually concerned with its speed.

An algorithm's complexity can be measured by its run time - this is called time complexity - or the amount of memory resources it uses, which is known as space complexity. But speed, like the amount of memory, depends on the computer - some computers are faster than others. A measure of run time will apply only to a certain machine rather than to all of them.

To avoid the need to analyze an algorithm for each kind of computer, a general measure, such as the number of steps required by the algorithm, can be used. The number of steps does not usually change very much from machine to machine, but it does depend on the size of the problem, as well as the specific outcome. For example, a search algorithm may end early if the target is found, truncating the rest of the search. In order to be as general as possible, an analysis of an algorithm usually considers the worst-case scenario, which requires the most steps. For the example of a search algorithm that quits when the target is found, the worst case is that the target is in the last piece of data, or is not found at all.

Computer Algorithms

An algorithm can be written as a series of steps. Computers only do what they are told, so the algorithm must not omit any important steps, otherwise the problem will not be solved. But adding unnecessary steps is unwise because this will increase the program's run time.

Computers operate with a binary language called machine language - words or strings of 1s and 0s - that is difficult and cumbersome for programmers to use. Although all programs eventually must be translated into machine language, most programmers write programs in languages such as BASIC or C, which contain a set of commands and operations that humans can more readily understand. Programs called compilers or interpreters then translate these instructions into machine language.

Programmers often begin with an outline or a sequence of steps the algorithm is to accomplish. For example, consider the problem of finding the largest number in a list. The steps may be written as follows.

1. Input the list of numbers.
2. Store the first number in a location called Maximum.
3. Store the next number in a location called Next and compare the value of Maximum with that of Next.
4. If Maximum's value equals or exceeds that of Next, discard the number in Next. If not, replace the value of Maximum with Next's value.
5. Repeat steps 3-5 until the end of the list is reached.
6. Output Maximum.

More complicated problems involve a lot more steps. Deep Blue, the IBM computer that beat reigning champion Garry Kasparov in chess in 1997, ran a considerably longer program.

Finding the maximum number in a list is a simple problem with a simple solution, but even simple solutions may take a long time. The TSP is an excellent example. Because it is a practical problem as well as representative of a large class of interesting problems in computer science, it has been much studied. Writing in the February 15, 1991, issue of Science, researchers Donald L. Miller, at E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, in Delaware, and Joseph F. Pekny, at Purdue University, in Indiana, observed, "Few mathematical problems have commanded as much attention as the traveling salesman problem."

A brute force approach to solving a TSP would calculate each possible distance. A more thrifty approach is to use heuristics - shortcuts to speed up the computation, such as the author's assumption, as mentioned in the sidebar, that the shortest route would not contain the longest intercity distance. Shin Lin and Brian Kernighan published a heuristic in 1973, "An Effective Heuristic Algorithm for the Traveling-Salesman Problem," in Operations Research, that uses a complicated procedure. But these procedures are not guaranteed to find the optimal solution. Instead, the goal is to find a good solution in a reasonable amount of time.

Third Party Disk Defragmentation Programs

As you use your computer files and data is moved around on your hard drive. This produces what is called fragmentation. As fragments build up they can slow down your computer. Disk Defragmentation should be done every so often to keep your computer running fast and smooth. But the defragmentation program that came with your operating system might not be the best and fastest way to defrag your hard drive. There are many third party programs out there, some which are less than trustworthy. So I am going to talk about a couple defrag programs that I have used and liked in the past. All of which I have personally tested. Some are free, some are not. Like everything else I talk about, I have no affiliation to any of these programs, and what I write is my own opinion.

Piriform's Defraggler is a great program. I install it on most computers because it is quick and easy to use. It's also a very small program, so you can easily put in on a flash drive and carry it around with you. Its free, unless you care to pay for Priority support. They have two flavors of Defraggler, a home version, and a business version. One of the things that drew me to Defraggler is that it has both a 32-bit and 64-bit version.

Diskeeper is a reliable and powerful program to keep your disks free of fragmentation. I used it a while ago to handle one of my computers that had three hard drives and it did wonders. Diskeeper comes in many different versions for home and business and everything in between, including for home servers. They even offer discounts if you are a buying in bulk. For networks they have this manager that allows a single person to control defragmentation on a network wide setup. If you are not sure you want to buy it, take a look at their 30 day trial.

PerfectDisk11 I have not had the chance to use PerfectDisk11 a lot, but in the few months that I did use it, it was useful. It not only managed all my drives, but it had a bunch of features that not only allowed it to run faster and quicker but it also optimized my boot times. While I was running PerfectDisk I was able to not only use my computer, but my computer ran almost as fast as it did when it was not being defragmented. It also allowed me to control almost every aspect of it. You should defiantly take a look at this program. Unfortunately you need to pay for it, but you can get a 30-day trial.

These programs should hopefully help you defragment your hard drives, and keep them defragmented. Enjoy!

IBM's Supercomputer Competes in Jeopardy

IBM's latest innovation, named Watson, is competing against Jeopardy greats Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. Needless to say, this is extremely impressive. Not only does the supercomputer give correct answers, it also tells the audience how sure it is of the answer. Oh, and it listens to what the host says and can understand it. Still not impressed? Watson can understand nuances of human speech, such as puns and jokes.

That's right. He understands jokes and puns. Watson does this by running thousands of algorithms on the questions it receives, and instead of doing them sequentially (i.e in the order he receives them) he does them all at the same time, after which he compares the answers and decides which is best, at which point he attaches a percentage to how sure he is. Watson uses VAST stores of literature and random facts to gather its answers from, and as time goes on and he encounters more information, the faster he gets and the better he gets at finding answers. The technology that IBM built Watson on is being called "DeepQA" (don't read too far into that, you pervs.)

The supercomputer is powered by 10 racks of IBM POWER 750 servers running a Linux distro, uses 15 terabytes of RAM (a standard personal computer has 4-8 GIGAbytes), and has a brain that is composed of 2,880 processor cores that can operate at speeds up to 80 teraflops (to put that into a little perspective, most of the computers on the market today have 2-4 processor cores). The system is totally self contained (not connected to the Internet) and can process the over 2 million pages of data in its memory in less than three second. Quite frankly, I'm impressed. And you should be too. And yes, I referred to the computer as he.

Check out the video of Watson competing here. Video courtesy of Engadget.

Advantage of SEO Over Traditional Marketing Strategies

Out of the different techniques used for business expansion on the internet, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is an important one. Today, a lot of businesses have turned to the web in order to sell their products and services, and they need to improve their marketing on the internet to make a good service.

A lot of businessmen believe that just making their business an online one is enough for its expansion. However, this is not true. The traditional marketing methods include advertisements in magazines and newspapers. The marketing strategies used in SEO are quite similar to these but they have different media of marketing. The traditional systems of marketing reach only limited audiences because of a number of factors like business markets, popularity, readership, etc. Also, after a period of time has elapsed, it can be really difficult to trace back an advertisement. Cost also can be very limiting when it comes to the size of the pictures and text. All these factors make the scope of these strategies very limited and as a result, there is a high chance of losing out on potential customers.

On the other hand, SEO can be really advantageous to a website as it can provide more information about the business. It works by increasing the rank of a business website on the search engines, thereby increasing the chances of it being used by a customer. Being placed at the top on the Google lists in it self is indicative of its credibility and excellence. This way, a business can reach out to a wider audience and in this way a measure of the customers needs can be made.

When a website reaches the top of a list of a popular search engine, it is automatically selected by the audience. This way, unlike the traditional marketing systems, SEO exposes a business to a wider audience and increases the probability of making better profits.

More information is available at seoservicesmarket.com. They offer information on choosing a SEO Service, including which SEO Services will help your site the most.

Where to Find HDMI Cables For Your Xbox?

Many of us that are into HD (High Definition) television quality, or video gaming such as the Xbox 360 for instance know that we would need a certain type of cable wire called a "HDMI" cable. Which clearly stands for "High Definition Multimedia Interface." But, where do we go to purchase these cables you ask?

Well, I have found that the internet is the most resourceful for shopping or finding products that we as consumers are seeking. You can type in Google search "where do you find or buy HDMI cables" and a list of many different companies will be listed. The top places from my experiences to buy HDMI cables for the Xbox 360 would be: Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Radio Shack.

Of course there are many more companies that sell HDMI cables than the ones I have chosen. It really depends on the amount you wish to spend and the quality of the cable that the buyer seeks. We all have favorite stores, shops or companies that we are familiar with or trust. But, when it comes to buying products such as HDMI cables or Xbox 360 gaming products you want to choose a store that has a reputation for quality products, as well as saving the consumer money for years to come. Think of it this way... many of us have spent a great deal of money on the Xbox 360, so when you invest money into a product as such, the demand for add-ons like HDMI cables should also be of high quality and that is why I recommend those stores above in this article.

It has also been statistically proven that most homes, consumers and even gamers do more purchasing, finding and researching of products online rather than physically going to the store as It saves them time and even money! Thats' right! You can find HDMI cables online even at a better price than actually taking a trip to the store. So, I would say the best place to find HDMI Cables for the Xbox 360 is on the internet. You may even find deals where the company will give you the shipping of the product, in this case the HDMI cables at no cost! And they also may add a bonus gift or item because you chose to purchase from their company rather their competitor.

Finding HDMI cables is not a complicated or difficult journey to accomplish. And the internet makes it easier than having to drive from this store to that one and being online allows you to take the time you need in meeting the specifics or requirements that you are seeking. Thanks for taking the time to read this article and I hope it helped you significantly!
